Because, y'know, stuff like having free time or sleeping or actually holding a second part-time job so you can pay for your own survival is waaay less important than making yourself fit into some stupid unattainable definition of acceptable.

...Seriously, though. Hours? That's eating disorder obsessive.

Oh, but eating disorders mean that you're THIN! And that's obviously the only important thing about you ever!

And while fatties are out doing their 3-4 hours a day of exercise, that means that they're not in clubs and restaurants and concerts and malls and generally out in public. :D :D :D

I saw someone comment about this forced invisibility that you're talking about over on SP. That sucks something hardcore. And makes me want to get everyone I know together and go be visible in clubs and malls and stuff.

Yeah, that's where I got it from. SP is awesome too.

I think that I'm finally coming to terms with my fatness, thanks to places like Fatshionista and Shapely Prose. :3 Is goods.

Man, I couldn't even do two hours every day. =\

I get home @5:15ish. Where does dinner fit in? If you're not supposed to eat right before exercising, and you're not supposed to eat after 7 (or else you get even more fat because you can't burn those calories while you sleep), when should I be getting out for a brisk walk? No way I'm taking a long walk after dark, thanks. I don't mind heading to the gas station or liquor store around the corner, but other than that, nothing doing.

GARHGGHGH.

I concede the point on the eating after 7 thing - it's just what my parents always told me. :)

Just get three to four hours of moderate activity a day.Whether or not they actually mean to tell all the fat people to get that much exercise a day, that's exactly how it comes off to me ( ... )

But the question is helps what? Helps keep you healthy and energetic? Sure. Helps keep you thin? Not so much. It not only implies that "being thin" is some kind of ultimate goal, and nothing else matters, but it also assumes that fat people are all lazy and can't possibly be making even a little effort to exercise. It also pretty much ignores the fact that even excessive exercise won't magically make people who naturally have a larger body type "thin".

ahaha I like how they studied THE AMISH 8| and then expected this to apply to normal everyday Americans.

Also the media focus on BEING THIN is totally a load of garbage honestly. You can be thin and unhealthy just as easily as you can be fat and unhealthy.

The focus should be on being IN SHAPE vs being "the right weight." Numbers are meaningless. Performance is what really matters. If you're "fat" but can outperform most thin folks physically then wtf is the problem?
