Upcoming bday party (not mine)

What should I wear to a black and white party? Guests have been told that they know how to sass it up. I'm not sure I do "sass". What would other people wear to a "sassy" Black and White party?

If I were to Ven diagram Mike and Sass there would be zero intersection. All I can think is: ask the partygivers or wear black pants & white shirt.

White shirt, white hat with black band, white/black boxers, brown dress shoes (you have to have some decorum) with white spats. Black dress socks with sock suspenders.
A cigar, and a large brandy snifter.

For real: maybe shorts that look like boxers? Ether's sock garters sold me.
