You are absolutely right that Palin is scary for all sorts of reasons - not to mention what her choice indicates about McCain's judgement.
I like to look at www.electoral-vote.com when politics starts to make my head hurt. At the moment, McCain is polling with 224 electoral votes, and Obama with 301. Yes, polls are polls, and the Republicans will cheat, but McCain will have to win a *lot* of states to overtake Obama's lead, and I don't think he's going to.
