A GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND.

named for the Flannery O'Connor story; cut text also from it. The original story was freaky, and then some Avatar fic's title made me think of it, and then something clicked and made it way way more freaky and tragic.
PG-13 for dark themes.

To be fair, the Sufjan song is about the O'Connor story. We're all derivative here, haha.

Katara is SO fierce! She is terrifying, honestly. The Southern Raiders freaked me out.

Zuko in this kind of decided to be... scary. dude, sometimes I wonder about dark future!fic. I mean, obviously there are lots of imperial issues and colonial/postcolonial problems, but what if the revolution goes sour once it's established? what if Zuko gets obsessed with his new quest for his mom and unhinges after all that's happened? (okay, stopping now, bedtime, steph.)

Dude, you should read the story, she is a really intense good writer. Had to read it for senior AP english and it's something that sticks with you.

Futurefic! I like your idea! Mai is totally the voice of reason, you hit the nail on the head, except when she's being kinda mopey. But she will not mope when there is stuff to be done!
