MISC: Chasin' The Ball - Nationalmannschaft
Hello everyone!
Over the past few weeks, I've been obsessing over a fandom I had so sadly retired a few years ago - Association Football or 'soccer'.
This past June has been witness to the 2008 European Football Championships, otherwise known as Euro 2008. It was a heady time and made me realize how much I love this damn game. During the tourney, I was supporting the German National Team, the Nationalmannschaft. Yes, I said 'man' and I said 'schaft'. I did not create the German language, k? ;) My boys made it to the finals this year, but lost to Spain. So, in their honor, I put this mix together... to remember them by. Some tracks harken back to both Euro 2008 and World Cup 2006, where my love of these boys first blossomed.
And with all sincerity, this mix would not have been possible without the handholding and support of my fellow football fanatic sarkastic. She is the Torsten Frings to my Michael Ballack. If it wasn't for her cheerleading and providing several tracks to this mix, it would have never have made it off the ground. Thanks, babe. ♥!!
