“Jones, you have become a bit unruly in terms of doing as I command. I tell you to fire upon those ships so that we have someone to interrogate; interrogation is quite futile if the suspect is dead.”
“This ship sails as its captain commands.”
“And the captain sails it as he is commanded!”
O_o ??? What? The transition - it makes no sense! None of it makes sense! It's hurting my bra-ain!
I haven't sen the movie for some time, but I'm pretty sure that's one of those cases where she "improves" the canon lines, probably via removing or moving a few around.
It really shows that all the characters sound the same when I got confused about what kind of bargain Kate had made with Calypso that got Sirena and Jacob killed, when she wasn't even born yet. Then I wondered why Beckett was addressing Kate as "Captain"... and why they were talking about her in third person. Then I finally realized that I had missed the POV change.
So Calypso relinquished her divinity and power....all to shoot some random Sue in the head. When she could have just sunk the ship, or drowned her, or.....
Something tells me that things are going to make less sense from now on. And considering the amount of crap that is directly pilfered from the movies, that is saying something.
No, she relinquished her divinity and power to shoot the Sue in the stomach. -_-
The only way I could see it justified is if Sirena committed suicide because of Calypso drowning Jacob, and in that case, it was Sirena who killed herself!
Is it really bad that I am having difficulty picturing the characters, even though they are from movies that I have seen? I know what Davy Jones looks like but for someone reason when he comes up in these stories, I just draw a blank. Like he's a non-entity. I do not picture the canon!Davy Jones.
As for Kate, I don't even remember her hair color, no less what she looks like.
I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe it! The pirate lords are in charge! They have to control all of the men under their command, and even when they don't have any, like Jack, they at least show themselves to be all around badass when it counts! Does Gethesemane honestly believe that a frequent damsel in distress who gets away only because of the sheer stupidity of her captors would be able to uphold something like that?
And as for which pirate lord gets shafted...I'm guessing Elizabeth. Because she's an awesome canon female, and Gethsemane just can't have that.

Yep, that's it. What's weird is that I swear that Sao Feng is ignored as a pirate lord as well, I guess so he can't pass it on to Elizabeth. The Pirate's Cove scene is pretty glossed over, so there's also no reason for this talk of pirate lords besides to make Kate look better.
