Projection Room Voices: Are you...quite prepared for this? You haven't finished your first assignment yet. To take on a second, and one such as this...
You know, you whine quite a bit about how the Slytherins don't care about anybody else in the school, and how Holly Potter is just a complete, self-centered bitch who can't drum up any empathy for somebody in another house, but that's the beauty of Holly Potter. True Slytherin aloofness! An ideal trait for a Slythernin to have; putting oneself above all others! Laughing as those who you don't like are maimed or harmed for petty reasons! Frankly, I think Holly Potter is brilliant; the author really settled on the asshole aspects of the Slytherins and follows it unapologetically!
...wait you mean that wasn't the intention and Holly's supposed to be a Purity Sue loved by all?
...well god damn.
Seriously, if this fic actually pursued this maliciousness the way it's written and didn't pretend Slytherin was such a nice House against all canon (and didn't give the Sue all these super-special powers what is with people doing that a gender flip Harry should be interesting enough), this might almost be interesting. But the fact that the

I noticed that too. It's like the author tried her hardest to mimic canon, but made inexplicable changes to try to make them look better. All she got was them being just as terrible and making Holly a two-faced hypocrite.
I don't know who I hate more: Holly or Emily from 'Hogwarts Exposed'. *Ponders for a moment* I hate Emily more because she's a preachy little bitch, but only barely, and only because I can blissfully think that all of this is in-character Slytherins.
But I have a burning question I don't think anyone has asked: If Holly has the diary, how are the writings still showing up? In canon, it was Ginny because she was possesed by Riddle and writing them. If it was Holly who was doing it, the suthor would have put it in because it would have been something to angst over, but it's never mentioned. So, who's doing the writings about the CoS, if it's not Holly (the fanon possessor of the diary) nor Ginny (the canon possessor of the diary). I smell EPIC PLOT HOLE. (and don't tell me it's still Ginny, because it won't make sense.)
Holly, I hope Diary!Riddle tears you limb from limb. Serves you right for trusting him.
Also, ILU dramatic prairie dog. You make me have lulz.
It's a tough decision. I don't know who I'd pick. Like you said, Emily's a preachy little bitch. On the other hand, we're supposed to think of Holly like a sweet little angel who's justified in everything.
The diary is being written in by Riddle. He was the one who wrote back in canon as well. Do you mean the messages on the wall? Because if so, we find out that it was in fact still Ginny doing that. There's an extraordinarily stupid explanation about how someone who's *not* Riddle is possessing her.
So... they waited so they could all explore the hall together... even though they can't all explore it together... Hell, getting Draco in probably wouldn't be that hard during the holdiays. Wait until everybody's asleep, open the passage, then he darts in and closes it before anybody can respond.
Even putting that aside. It's in the dorm hallway. That's only heavily trafficked in the morning and the evening. It can't be that hard to find a time when no one's around so they can explore!
"Thank you," she murmured, and she didn't have to say for what. This has come up at least three times in the fic now, assuming there aren't some I missed when Das Mervin was scripting. Not only is this overused, it's used badly. Most of the time somebody says thank you, they don't need to explain it. She's thanking Draco for wanting to protect her. The fact that she doesn't need to explain it isn't some deep bond between them, it's context!
'ZeldaQueen: Yes, it happened before. It was big news. It happened when their parents were at school! I know for fact that Lucius was there! Even if they weren't involved with Death Eaters at any point, they ought to know about it! A student DIED! That would be like if a cult in Pittsburgh murdered someone and people in Pittsburgh knew about it even if they weren't members of the cult!'
That's more along the My Immortal timeline, isn't it? I mean, I doubt Lucius Malfoy is over 50 years old, especially considering that he was a prefect when Snape was Sorted. Lucius wasn't even born when Myrtle died, was he?
eeh... it's canon for a second-year to be able to conjure a snake with the spell holly used. malfoy used it during the dueling club, which is when harry used parseltongue in front of everyone (right before nearly-headless nick and justin finch-fletchley were petrified).
if canon malfoy can do it in second year, it's not a stretch to assume holly (who's supposed to be so much smarter than everyone) can do it, especially since i think it's mentioned that malfoy taught it to her in the first place.
