I was confused about the index, too. She had never bothered to put in an index for any of the other books, so why this one?
Goodness knows that she needs an index for the Volturi's wives. While reading das_mervin's fic, I had no idea who half of the vampires were. I sure can't remember all of the vampires that joined with the Cullens against the Volturi.
I guess Meyer figured that with so many vampires introduced in such little time, people would get confused. Like I said though, most of them did nothing, so there seemed little point.
I have this theory that Meyer enjoys creating characters but then has no idea what to do with them. In this short story she wrote, she gave out about twenty different names for characters who only were mentioned in passing.
Now if I were Meyer, I'd actually put up bios for the vampires on her website or something.
Slogging through this thing and not being reduced to an incomprehensible blob of RAEG is an accomplishment worthy of shinies. Hmmm... I'm thinking art. I actually have a pretty good idea for a comic of Zelda-Queen vs. Twilight.
*taps pencil against sketchbook* Any chance you got a full-body shot of your icon/avatar? :3
