Warning: Possibly Not Making Sense Thanks To Not Being Able to SleepladyhadhafangMay 24 2013, 03:04:49 UTC
Sorry if I haven't caught up on this in a while!
Anyway, Jesus Christ. 0.0. I mean...just, Jesus. I really don't know who I hate more. I mean, I hate Vee with every fiber of my being but if that we're the case, I don't think I'd have any words to describe how I feel about Nora in this chapter. And poor Marcie...she really doesn't deserve that shit.
(Seriously, if your Designated Alpha Bitch comes off as more sympathetic than your Designated Heroes -- lovely term, Designated Hero; I should use it more often -- then it's really time to go back to the drawing board)
*Sighs*
Seriously, you are my hero for this, you really are.
To quote from the previous part: I’d like to bring up that this is obviously where Fitzpatrick had no idea what to write. The scene here with the dog really exemplifies this. I'm guessing that there's no indication that Marcie has a dog at any point before Vee tells Nora about it. It shows up only to create a sense of pressure for Nora, yet even then she manages to steal several of Patch's items and Marcie's diary while getting away undetected. And I'm betting that either she thinks she got enough anyway or that the locked window is merely a temporary setback to Nora's sociopathic kleptomania
( ... )
No, we have no idea there was a dog, before it goes running upstairs. And yes, the window is a temporary setback.
I have no idea why Marcie locked the window, really. It's...just something she does. And no, she doesn't notice Nora stole her stuff, not even after a few days go by. She apparently doesn't realize Nora stole stuff from her until Nora instigates the realization.
No. They don't. Of course, security in general is nonexistent, because that would get in the way of Nora being a detective. The library also had no security system, and we get an even WORSE case of this, near the end of the book.
I'm surprised the dog didn't show up sooner. My dog actually loves to greet people, so I assume her dog would've been all over everyone at the party. Guess Fitzpatrick never had a dog.
Maybe I'm a horrible person, but wouldn't have been funny if Nora fell off the roof and landed on Vee? After reading about these horrible, judgmental, hypocritical people, them getting because of their stupidity would make me smile.
Still, I can't believe how stupid Marcie's being in this chapter, but it might be because Fitzpatrick is from another planet and has no idea how the hyoo-mons act.
