ZeldaQueen: I'm very sorry for how slow things have been. Hopefully things can move a little quicker now, updates-wise. I would certainly hate to deprive you all of this stupidity. ( Read more... )
This is tangentially related to the sporking, but heartening nonetheless: my school had a meeting of the special area teachers yesterday, and according to the gym teacher, the girls' interest in archery is up a billion percent now that the Hunger Games books and movie are around. I get more kids now asking me where The Hunger Games are than Twilight. I think our young girls are finally getting a new role model to emulate, and man I could not be happier. The fourth graders still want Twilight though, but they're in fourth grade and don't know any better. They'll learn.
The whole bit with Cloak Dude at the pub doesn't just sound like a booty call, it sounds like he's actively seeking out some hot guy-on-guy action and asking where to get it. He then goes straight into the woods afterwards! OMG, he's going dogging :P (Remember in Being Human Season 3, with George being arrested in the woods with all those other blokes because they thought he was going to pick up other guys? :P)
Okay, enough filth!
Oh, how nice that Patch's sociopathy continues to rub off on Nora. And yet another Sue trait I hate: unnecessarily dragging out the plot in order to build 'suspense.' Epic fail!
That's one of the things I hate about these plots. They're so weakly put together that the characters all have to stagger around and do the stupidest filler things to pad it out, because any action of substance would solve the conflict in two pages. What do these Suethors have against a substantial plot? x(

Yeah, so does everyone else who's had the misfortune of reading books like this.

Is she still strong and independent if she tries to be for the sake of impressing the guy?
