You see, the 'High-Priestess-can-erase-memories-thing' would be extra creepy if even the vampires didn't know about it. It was this big huge secret that the High Priestesses (are there any High Priests?!) kept from everyone for whatever reason. So, when Marx's sister found out by accident (for fun, I'm going to say a friend of hers had some memories erased that she knew about so she investigated it and thus discovered the secret), she knew there would be absolutely no way anyone, vampire or human, would believe her, so she told her beloved brother ( ... )

Are humans that consent to being bitten by vampires told about the possibility of Imprinting? If not, that’s just horrible! That’s like having sex with a person and not mentioning until after “Oh yeah, and you just caught a very rare STD that only people in my community have”.

A personality-rewriting, mind control STD, at that. Seriously, it's unconscionable if the vampires are keeping this a secret. This is the kind of stuff they make public service announcements about - "This is your brain on Imprint"! And it wouldn't be a problem if the vampire world was supposed to be sinister, or at least questionable, but as it is, it just comes across as more of the anti-human bull that keeps showing up in these vampire books.

Late reply to this, but that spite fic was beautiful and a million times more interesting than anything in this series. Kudos for that! :)
