*kneels next to the poor, underdeveloped World-Building* It's okay, World-Building. I know lots of people don't give you the respect you deserve and you are routinely ignored for something as stupid as Romance, despite the fact that you set the stage that Romance stands on and without you, what would Romance do? But! I still love you *pats it*, and that's all that matters

That actually is pretty close to what I've gathered on Aphrodite. PC Cast has openly admitted that Aphrodite is her favorite character. Kristen's is, surprise, surprise, Zoey-Sue.
Although I do get the feeling that it's just very ham-fisted character development, that Zoey is oh-so-wonderful to give Aphrodite a chance and see how great she is and let her be a Sue Groupie. Given how later books go...yeah.
Funnily enough you mentioned Harry Potter 4, the "dream without nightmares" reminded me of the potion that let Harry have "a dreamless sleep" too XD And WTF at the Bridge XD I mean I forgot it because I read that part months ago, to them it happened, maybe a day ago (considering awful timeline) Like thats freaking ridiculous. Oh and in Kristin-er- Zoey's eyes, Stevie Rae isn't annoying/obnoxious/fat so yeah its okay to be sad. But Elliot, oh Elliot is SO FAT AND GROSS AND ICKY AND EWWWWWW Oh I wish PC was there to tell me about Death when I was younger...(note sarcasm)
"Even when someone else dies, it's Zoey-Sue who gets all the attention!"
All I can think about is when Cleolinda Jones did the parody Mary Sue meme. When her Sue's boyfriend killed himself because she refused to marry him, she said "It was so sad. Everyone felt so sorry for me!" And that was meant to be one of the most outrageous Mary Sue parodies ever!
The thing is, Aphrodite has done a couple of things which are really nasty (forcing sex on Erik while he keeps making it clear he's not interested and having the kids bleed themselves for the ritual), but the Cast ladies handle it in the most clumsy way possible. The whole forced sex on Erik thing is ignored entirely, and the only reason her bleeding the fledglings matters is because it was done to Stevie Rae (Elliott, of course, doesn't matter -_-), which is also forgotten. Because the two worst things she did were brushed aside, the hatred of her comes across as overly petty and mean-spirited on the parts of the protagonists. So yeah, well done of the Cast ladies. -_-

Don't be. It's much more accurate than you know. :P
"And again, WHY ISN'T THE BOOK ABOUT APHRODITE?"
Agreed, especially with her next appearance. >_<
