[Jewel would not normally be out in the darkness; she fears the creatures that may be beyond her doorstep. But she has opened her door far enough to allow her to take down the lantern which burns beside it, and it is by this light and the stars overhead that she catches sight of the lady soldier. She peers through the darkness. The woman is vaguely familiar; she has met the Ashei in her own Hyrule only once, to extend her thanks to the Group for aiding Link in getting into the castle.]

My dear madam, these streets are not safe to walk at night. Are you lost?

[Turns toward the familiar-but-unexpected voice and does a double-take.]

Y-Your Majesty?! How'd YOU get here, yeah? And are Link or Shad or... [peers closer] Um... Majesty? When'd you dye your hair brown?

Ah...I do apologize for the misunderstanding. I'm not the Queen you apparently think me to be, but it's a very common mistake to make around here. I can only think you must be new.

[She glances around uneasily.]

Will you come inside? It's safer indoors, and I can better explain.

[Has NO idea what the heck Zelda's going on about. Maybe the Queen's running a fever? She better follow; if it's a trap, she can always defend herself. She nods and steps through the door.]

[Something breaks the calm of the night -- a voice. A rather loud voice that shatters his focus and chases away the whisper that had been telling him about the things that live beneath the well. Vaati sighs and stands up; he will have to try again later.

[For now, he wants to know who to blame for the interruption.

[He walks outside and leans on the railing. He can barely make out a figure in the distance; is that the person he heard earlier?]

[Surprised, Ashei looks up to see a weird kid in an even weirder getup glaring out the windmill at her. She just HAS to snort.]

"Oh, sor-RY, man-child, for interrupting your important work, yeah?"

['Kids today!']

"Look, how 'bout you just tell me where I am, since I've gotten a bit... disoriented, and I take my big, bad, loud mouth far away from your delicate hearin', yeah?"

[Vio has been staying in Kakariko village when he wasn't either practicing archery on the Tektites along Death Mountain or in the Hyrule Castle library reading. That being said, the sound of shouting outside draws his attention.

Exiting the inn, he turns and sees-]

Hyrule Field is that way. [points at the gate, then leans against the door with arms crossed in front of him] But I don't recommend heading out there at this time of night.

"Oh?"

[Turns around and see the little blond boy. Hyrule Field, huh? That WOULD be a good place to start her search...]

"Uh, thanks."

[Strange; according to Link, even the bokoblins had backed-off the Field and headed to the mountains, so it SHOULD be safe. She decides to gather some more intel, in case the boy knows something she doesn't. Besides, she still has no idea where she IS.]

"So, what's the matter with Hyrule Field, at night, yeah?"

[It was probably the splashing or yelling that woke her up, but still, with sleepy awareness Zelda lit a lamp and came out of one of the empty houses, sword in hand.]

Who's there?

[ashei_yeah]

[Turns around, at the sound of the voice. She sees the sword, and is already reaching for her own, when she notices that the woman looks familiar.]

"Huh? Oy... do I know you?"

[She comes closer, to get a better look at the person, sword drawn, just in case, but aimed down, in a show of truce.]

[When she gets a clear look at the face:] "Majesty! W-what are YOU doing here?! You're supposed to be at the castle, yeah? Are Auru and Rusl here, with you? And where are Shad and Link, yeah? Jokers disappeared on me!"

[After regaining some composure:] "... Um, Queen Zelda? ... Actually, where ARE we? And how'd we get here, yeah?"

[With a release of tension, she lets both lantern and sword fall to her side. She's in only a light cotton nightdress and the robe overneath it, but the chill doesn't break, regal demeanor. After all, this was one of her subjects.] Hello, Ashei. I-- [Then Zelda stops, halted by the warrior's last words. She blinks in surprise, before frowning.]

I have seen Shad, a month ago at Lake Hylia. Link I have seen several times, but never Auru and Rusl. However, why do you call me "Queen"? I am yet the Princess.

[Oh, no... The Queen has amnesia!]

"Um... Your Majesty? ... You were crowned nearly half a year past, remember? The ceremony was held in Hyrule Field, since the Courtyard is still under construction, and you wanted all who wished to to be able to attend, yeah? ... It was right after the reconstruction on the Residential Quarters and Audience Chamber finally finished, yeah? And... you've seen either Auru, Rusl, Shad, Link, or myself at least once a day for the past year, since you made us Knights and your personal Contingent... We rotate shifts, remember? ... Um... yeah..."

[Shift, shift... Fidget... Oh, look! Invisible lint! Brush, brush ... Well, THIS is uncomfortable...]

[Midna leans out the window, dangling a lantern towards this newcomer to get a better look. Huh...if it isn't that girl from Telma's place!]

[Some strange, exotic woman with blue body-paint is staring at her with an "I know something you don't know" expression... It's a little irritating... Ashei's eyes narrow slightly in mild suspicion.]
