[For the third time since her arrival in this strange Hyrule, Din feels the pull of her duty. It is time to summon Autumn to her post.]

[The Oracle of Seasons makes her way to the center of Hyrule Field. Hyrule has no Temple of Seasons, but she finds the field suitable to her work. It is bright, and open, and lets her commune with the spirits ( Read more... )

[Ah, fall! Season fer harvesting crops, leaves turnin' gold and red, nighttime festivals and wreaths an' garlands of pumpkin an' squash decoratin' every door and window in Ordon. Why, if Jake concentrates, he can even smell the pumpkin pie baking! ...Now if only he could find his way back to Ordon. Shucks! His favorite cooking ingredient, and he ain't even found a HINT of pumpkin in this whole dang place! Land's sake...

[/sniff, sniff... Somethin' burnin'? He see a flicker like a flame over that ridge, but he dun smell any smoke. Heck is that glow, then, if not fire?

[...Is that--

[HOLY CRAP, THERE'S A GIRL ON FIRE!] Miss! MISS!!! Hold on, Ma'am! I'm a-comin'!

[Lookin' around frantically, he finds no water. No sounds of the Fire Brigade approaching, neither. Havin' nothing else on hand, he douse her with all the water in his canteen an' pray for rain.]

((WB, hun! My apologies to Din. Being a natural Good Samaritan doesn't make Jake any smarter, unfortunately.))

[What. In. The world.]

[That's one very disgruntled Oracle on the ground there, soaked hair flat against her head, sodden pink dress clinging to her skin. She spits hair out of her mouth and wipes her eyes, then looks up at her "rescuer" with a beady red eye. Ah, yes, she vaguely remembers him -- they met on her first arrival here.]

It's Jake, right? What...exactly...are you trying to accomplish?

[He can hardly believe it, but the canteen were enough! Fire's out!]

Y-you alright, ma'am?! Burned anywhere? I-I got some salve if'n ya-- [Dang, man. She were ablaze a moment ago, but she dun even look singed! He look her over, confused as to what jes happened.] ...You WERE ablaze, right? 'Mean, I ain't imagined that...

I'm not burned.

[Din gets to her feet and finger-combs her wet hair for a moment.]

I wasn't ablaze...I was the blaze. It's not your imagination; it's just a spell. Something I had to do, that's all.

[Not giving up that secret. But she understands, now, that he meant well, so she allows Jake a smile.]

Thank you for trying to help. I appreciate the intent.
