[Oh look, an epic mount mare in Hyrule Field. She appears lost, but, being a confident pony by nature, hardly scared. She is tall and powerful and eating grass. She swishes her tail from time to time. She could really go for a carrot.]

[Oh, she's a beauty. Din watches from a distance before slowly making her way toward the horse, keeping her movements carefully nonthreatening. Animals generally responded well to the Oracle, but there was no need to alarm her.]

[She draws close, reaching with one tentative hand to rub the horse's back.]

[Epona doesn't respond well to strangers, regardless of how gentle they may be. At the girl's approach, she canters away, now alert and aware of her company. The horse stares for a moment, then returns to eating, but her ears remain perked]

[Din knows better than to be offended by equine rejection. Horses are tricky sometimes. She calmly sits down on the grass where she is, watching. After a few minutes she rests one hand on the ground, patiently tapping out a rhythm with her fingertips. If the horse remains placid, she might get up and dance the Blessing of the Earth; the earth spirits would have better luck communicating with the critter than she herself.]

[Epona indeed remains calm. She feels no threat from this girl. After all her travels, she can tell the difference between a monster and otherwise. Yet, she remains a proud beast, and though she nonchalantly closes the distance between the two occasionally, Epona generally keeps to herself. It's difficult to tell if her stance, tall and rigid, is to give warning of her power or just a flaunt]

[Wandering horse in Hyrule Field! Link draws closer, wondering who it could belong to. Probably it got out of Lon Lon Ranch. It's strange, though; the horse is colored just like...]

[Epona would recognize that song, that ocarina sound, that boy anywhere. It takes only a moment for her to rush to his side, lightly whinnying her greetings and shoving her muzzle in his face for horsey hugs]

[She does recognize him! And she's the first creature he's met in this Hyrule who does. Link laughs and wraps his arms around Epona's muzzle and neck for a brief, light squeeze, then settles to rubbing her forehead and between her ears.] I can't believe you're here.

Not again... [pulling the borrowed coat closer around himself, he continues walking through Hyrule Field. Maybe he should just stop walking away on his own... Then again, the kickass wolf that they were traveling with should be smart enough to find him (he hoped the wolf could find him, getting lost in this place was not something he wanted to do)
