Week 145 reminder.
Hey guys, just a reminder that your supernatural icons are due Friday. We only have three icons right now, so we definitely need more! I'm sure you don't want me to submit my own crapola again. >:( SUBMIT NOW!
Also, an insane amount of banners have been posted in the past few days. If you haven't picked yours up yet, please do so.
Finally, I have been trying to think of ways to up participation. I've come up with one thing but I am not entirely sure that it would work out since it's kinda dumb, heh... but basically we'd have like, an eight-week (or two-month) cycle, right? At the end of those two months I'd go through the winning icons for the past eight weeks and give the iconists points based on how they placed, you know, like three for first, two for second, and one for third (not entirely sure if I'd want to include mod's choices), sorta like voting. And then they would get... another banner? XD Yeah I suck, I don't really have anything else to offer. Did that even make sense? Uhh I'll demonstrate.
So we'll take the first two weeks at zelda_awards (I know I said eight but the same point can be made with two heh). For Week 1, tiringil won first, thetasermonkey won second, and drops_of_colour won third, so they would have 3, 2, and 1 points, respectively. Then for the second week, noa won first, drops_of_colour won second, and thetasermonkey won third. So for that week they'd have 3, 2, and 1 points, respectively. Then add the two weeks together and we get:
tiringil - 3 points
thetasermonkey - 3 points
drops_of_colour - 3 points
noa - 3 points
Uh, you can see why we'd have to have several weeks of this so that they don't all tie. XD But anyway, I guess at the end of the eight weeks, the top three would get a banner similar to the 123 ones.
Again, kinda dumb, but... you guys like banners, right? ;D Anyway, if I were to do this, it wouldn't take any extra effort on your part (aside from maybe SUBMITTING MORE); it's just some extra tallying I have to do on the side - voting and such continues as normal. I dunno. Would that actually make more people want to submit? Did anyone even understand the gibberish I just spouted out? Also if we did this I would probably start the first cycle next week (146).
