Just a drive-by post to assure you all that I'm not dead.

Accomplishments of note: - my angelic_bigbang is at 5,747 words and I am motivated and having a great time with it. And, to boot, it's original fic! I'm trying to avoid too many spoilers, but simply put, it's about a pair of Fallen angels investigating each other and some odd/creepy happenings in Hell. ( ( Read more... )

Whatever you got from the Fafnir quest (you did do that, right?), it will be useful.

Get the Dragon Ring in particular however you can.

I got the armor, I'm afraid...well, I'm pretty sure I can make a Dragon Ring, so I'll grind for the stuff for it.

The armor's excellent too. You can make all three of the items, the quest just gives you one for free, that's all.

But the ring will be invaluable.

I'm glad you're enjoying your original fic writing! I've got to get back into writing myself, or woe betide me when November comes knocking.

I find it interesting that you mention Tetris as a tool for getting into the writing headspace, because I used to use an old SNES emulator for Bust-A-Move to do the same thing. It had an endless mode and I was good enough at it that I could just sort of play on autopilot while I thought about story stuff. Puzzle games, man.

Anything I can do to help you get back into writing?

It's a simple pleasure, and for me tetris helps me clear my mind and focus - that same focus then applies to writing, and it's just good stuff all around.

Nah, I just need to grit my teeth and get my ass back in gear. I need to work every day... should probably start a writing only journal and try some short (very short) fiction at least every other day.

Oddly enough I read today that Tetris has shown to be calming to people with PTSD! Huh.

Ooh. Then I recommend drabbles, as they're short and good for being very focused with your writing.

Huh. Makes sense, though - it's a simple puzzle that's engaging.
