A little enjoyment

It's finally been long enough for me to pick up DSRK1 without getting annoyed at how the battle system compares to its sequel, so I am finally two hours into DSRK1 and greatly enjoying it. :D Last thing I was doing afore I saved and quit: searching for a special kind of wine so I could bribe a grumpy turtle-dragon into giving me a ride across the ( Read more... )

I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hate the battle system hate. Raidou feels more human with the old battle system. He's flashy, but flashy in a realistic, more conservative kind of way.

Keep having fun!

I don't hate the battle system - it's just clunkier than the sequel, so adjusting back to it made it harder when I first tried it. But now? Now I agree - it is fun! And the gun is now useful, and it does make sense that Raidou hasn't taken gymnastic lessons before getting his title. XD;;

I also have to say - the lack of negotiation makes it interesting for me, as it makes me wonder...did Raidou change his methods between games? I'm certain he's had a chance to mature as well, and it fits with my headcanon that he figured out negotiations by himself, instead of following the standard route that he's using in this game.

...but now I'm rambling. I hope I make sense?

That's a good point about the negotiations... the tutorial didn't exactly cover it, did it? (it's been forever since I've seen the tutorial, so...) It could be that he saw or heard of it in the Akarana Corridor, given that it linked to SMT1 and 2's times.

I'd have to go replay DSRK2 to find out...which I prolly will, after I beat DSRK1. So we'll see there. I can see him both a) seeing it first hand with the Akarana Corridor and b) the demons are v. chatty in DSRK1 in battle and out of battle, so I can see him figuring it out on his own. He obviously doesn't need a COMP to translate their speech, after all!
