The photographs are mesmerising as ever but I especially like this story because my grandfather used to look after some of the strays in our locality and I am very admiring of people who extend a natural sympathy towards animals. Do you design your frame carefully or do you just work with the natural pose that people adopt?
I don't usually arrange people or anything in a frame. It's once or twice when I have asked people to sit or stand. This case was special because the man claimed too much.
I call them claims because I felt the man talked too much to get some visibility. It is actually the entire shopkeeper community which takes care of the dogs. Since this man spoke English, he told he did everything on his own.
Interesting; he didn't tell me of this news conference.
He told me that if we ever mention his name, we should talk about how he challenged the Municipal corporation but he did not mention too much about the dogs as such...maybe at that time, he was purely looking at some media mileage. You never know.
your b&w pictures always have this documentary kind of effect. which makes them timeless. and i also feel that the b&w effect helps to reduce the clutter which is sometimes unnecessarily highlighted in colour. The second picture is great as a portrait and I find it interestin that the man isn't looking at the camera directly... sort of makes it a candid. :)
