Reaching out

Everyone has a little crazy in their lives. It might take the form of anything. A pet, a lover, a parent, an in-law, a neighbor, etc., etc.... Some have that really crazy co-worker who clips his or her toenails at work and eats nothing but goat-cheese. We live in a country where there's enough to eat, you don't have to worry about ebola, smallpox, or polio, and there's nobody actively trying to kill you. It's a pretty sweet deal.

More people should realize that since all those are non-factors, there's pretty much nothing worth getting upset over.

Sometimes, you can't help everyone. She may not be trying to kill herself, but may actually be more of the stalker type. Talking of killing herself is the excuse to fixate on the people around her, and hold them prisoner to her emotional manipulation.

I recently saw one of the crime scene shows - maybe CSI NY? Don't remember.. - and a man did this to several women. The women contacted the police, they filed restraining orders, and this man would follow them from town to town, prevent them from having relationships with others, call them 47 times a day, show up at work, when they went out with friends - they didn't have a moment's peace. One woman killed herself over it. The police can't do anything unless they physically harm someone - there is no recourse for the emotional harm these people can do, except to hang on and surround yourself with good friends.

Good luck with it all. Hope it all turns out.
