I think it depends on the individual fox and their local environment. Foxes are very adaptable to different places, but they are skittish. As you mentioned, there aren't many houses around here, but the entire landscape sounds and smells of big machinery and the people associated with it. There isn't much habitat left for wild creatures, but they manage to eke out a living.
It was neat seeing the fox with the oculars last night.
This morning, I saw about three dozen turkeys in north Fargo. Quite of few of them had their tails spread like peacocks. I'm not sure I've seen them do that before. Is it a mating call?
