Well, it wasn't that awkward, because the lady who did it for me is someone I've known for a while. Plus she only did the lower half of my legs so it wasn't that bad?

Ouch is the word indeed. :/ Well, my mother signed me on for some course of sorts, apparently it'll stop the hair from growing again, but at a painful price of course -- both in terms of money and my own suffering. We women are kind of dumb that way.
