London

I'm at Heathrow Airport with an hour to kill before my flight to Singapore and then home. I spent my two days in London almost entirely at four military museums, and saw the following Sharpe-related things:

Welcome home! (When you get home!)

The museums sound fascinating - that said, I don't think I've ever met a museum that I didn't like :-)

Thank you - just got home to my house this afternoon!

Ooh, I dragged the Sweetie to the National Maritime Museum last time I was there just for a glimpse of Nelson's jacket. (My dad, an honest-to-god sailor, told me how wee it looked when he saw it when he was living in England in the '50s and doing Newcastle coal runs. He was right. It was quite small.)

Good luck with the flights home!

I thought many of the uniforms on display looked way too small for many men (and women) today.

I kept thinking that I couldn't really imagine most men today handling a sword.

The trip home was pretty good. Sharpe's Sword kept me entertained! That's a good one!

I reckon Nelson's jacket would just about fit me. And I'm tiny.

Oooh, Sharpe's Sword is definitely a good one. Every time I watch the TV version, I pull out the book again to read how the h/c with Harper watching over a wounded Sharpe should have been done. (God bless Bernard Cornwell.)
