Persuaders Night

Feb 02, 2008 21:25

sarren managed to assemble no fewer than 7 people to watch The Persuaders! last night. One of them may have been under duress as an occupant of the house who had little means of escape, but the rest of us independently drove a considerable distance to attend! By my count she's now exposed at least a dozen people and some seem to have been infected! If ( Read more... )

*beams* This beautiful post makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I love reading about the joy of fandom, and the comfort of friendship.

It was a good night. I feel almost guilty about having such a great slash community here, when I know some of the people reading this are all by their lonesome!

Wait until you read her story!

*blushes* Thank you! Also, I love you.

Of course, you realise I am paralysed with terror now and will never finish that fic...

she propped one eye open long enough for me to enthuse

I vaguely remember saying 'sure, add semi-colons' and 'change whatever you like'...

order of magnitude better than anything you've written before

*whimpers* My Jack/Ianto fic that got recced by Shalott???

Yes, I definitely think it's better than the Torchwood one, though you have to take into account the fact that I'm slightly more invested in Brett/Danny! I suppose I can't really judge, though, since I don't know the Torchwood characters well enough for the dialogue to resonate with me the way it does in WIP2. I think WIP2 has more emotion and better description all round - specifically, better description of the characters' expressions and their delivery of the dialogue, which is what's upping the emotion factor ( ... )

Hee! They are privately locked on lj. What could be safer than that? Don't answer that.

You said you didn't like Coming Home very much. The implications of that being your previous favourite is pretty ego-crushing. *cries*

I HAVE HAD NO PERSUADERS ALL SATURDAY OR SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not that I didn't like Coming Home, just that I think it would've been even better if it was about three times as long and answered all my tedious logistical questions! I think the idea the story was based around was excellent, and quite unique compared to your more usual first-time get-together kind of story. Which I know is what Persuaders WIP2 is, but I think that one's a particularly good example of the species!

You're forcing me to be systematic about this and actually go look at all your stories to check. Most of them aren't for fandoms/pairings I'm especially keen on, so that's going to affect things! My other favourite is the JD/Buck story. I really like some of the lines in that one a lot. It also stands out to me as being a bit different, in that they're not, at least from Buck's point of view, a couple waiting to happen.

Two whole days with no Persuaders? Ouch. I spent a large chunk of Sunday learning basic, basic vidding and ended up with about five whole seconds of clips from Someone Waiting!
