HP, Alpaca Sex, Tree Planting

Jul 19, 2007 11:06

I've just finished rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in preparation for Saturday and enjoyed it a lot this time around. I think I skimmed through it so quickly two years ago to find out what happened that I didn't give myself the opportunity to savour it much. This time, I liked the Voldemort backstory in particular, and found the ( Read more... )

The phrase "I'm not any kind of major-league HP fan" appears totally inconsistent with everything else in the first paragraph. When racing out on Sat for the item you "can't wait for", who will the major-league fans be? The ones who get there 10 mins before you? :)

Well, I'm the kind of fan who hadn't bothered to look at Book 6 again after skim-reading it once and couldn't remember anything that happened in it, up to and including the death of a major character and Harry's love interest. But I'm keen on Saturday as an "event" that I happen to be alive for and might as well try to enjoy to the fullest!

I know the day didn't suit everybody, but I think I'd better say Sunday 12 August for the tree planting day

IN! (although I reckon we could start earlier... :) )

Sure, I'd be keen. We could have a morning planting session for the especially energetic! I just seem to remember quite a few people running late last year.

I'm sure we can be late as well, but a morning session sounds good. Lunch always tastes better when you earn it. :)

That is one hellova sound, that "orgle!" I didn't know whether to shreik or laugh, so I settled for saying "Oh my god" over and over again.

Also? I think my ex-bpyfriend made a noise like that.

I don't think Minnie's suitor reached quite that loud a crescendo at the end, but he made plenty of noise!

Sherry's mom spat at her spit-off, so we hope she's pregnant, but we're not too confident since she also spat at the male the first time he visited, when she definitely wasn't pregnant! She didn't seem to like him waltzing into her territory.

Sherry seems to have reached the precocious pre-teen stage and has been getting into little air-spit fights with the other younger ones. She's winning, too!

I decided that 'shrieking with laughter' was the only way to go.

Thank you for the orgle link! I laughed out loud! I wonder what the translation to human would be?

can't wait for the moment on Saturday when I get to hand over my money and carry Deathly Hallows out of a store. While I'm not any kind of major-league HP fan, I think it's exciting to have been alive over the period these books were being written.

Me too!!! I'm about the same league of fan as yourself, but I'm hugely excited by it all!

I found Harry Potter Day tremendously exciting! It might well be the biggest book launch in our lifetimes and I had every intention of treating it as a major event, even if I had to do some last-minute revising to be ready. I had a wonderful day today!

LOL! I really shouldn't have read your post while at work. Now they're all staring at me weirdly.

Meanwhile: He gave her an offended look, spat at her at close range and said, "Once is all you get! You want more, tell your people to make another appointment!"

He's not much of a stud then is he? Seriously Z, I thought you'd have hired his services for the night...*g* Poor Minnie.

Tree planting 12 August is good for me.

Great, I'm glad to hear you can make the 12th.

These stud males live in a rarefied environment where the females are lined up for them everywhere they go, so I guess he could afford to reject the likes of Minnie beyond the bare minimum he was being paid for!
