It was really quite disturbing!

The males in this breed are up to twice the size of the females, but the females get a lot bigger than this one. I think she's still pretty young.

When rabbits mate, the male must immobilise the female (who tries to flee) by biting her on the back of the neck and pinning her down. Not nice.

I had a look online for how much that sort of thing occurs in the animal world and it seems to be pretty common. It's an unjust world we live in! I've been smouldering with resentment on behalf of the little kangaroo since yesterday and wishing I was much bigger than I am.

ETA: Edited to remove the stuff about alpacas. Apparently they aren't always very civilised about it either.
