Back home

I'm back home after my trips to Melbourne and NZ. My worst-case scenario of not being able to see Supernatural until I got home* didn't come to pass, since I was able to get my download quota increased by staying an extra night at a motel. They normally only offered 50MB/day with extra time being quite expensive. I was surprised at how quickly I ( Read more... )

Thanks for posting the pictures and your observations about the earthquake damage and aftermath. Having your personal observation is worth 50 news reports any day.

The yogurt! Nothing like having your food tell you how to be a man. It's like telling a guy that eating something yucky will put hair on his chest. How did it taste? I've got to say it sounds thick enough that a spade might not be enough. It covers your daily recommended allowance of fiber for a week in one go. How is there even room in the carton for the berry?

Glad you're home and that it was a nice time.

The yoghurt was delicious and I bought more on another day, not that I really wanted to support the company with my paltry $6.50!

Wow, great photos, and what a sad thing. I have friends in Christchurch and they pretty much have PTSD now after living through the big quakes. We were there almost exactly 2 years before.

I loved Akaroa! We took a wildlife-watch boat out to the harbour around the corner, and it was really neat. I also enjoyed driving to Lyttleton - we didn't use the tunnel at all but went over one side to get there, and around the other to get back, I think. A very cool ridgeline drive.

You suggested Akaroa to me when I went to Christchurch two years ago, but I went whale watching in Kaikoura instead on thtat trip. I really enjoyed Akaroa and would go back.

The people I met while walking in the hills said that everyone from Christchurch thinks "It's an earthquake!" at the sound of planes, trains and minor collisions of any kind.
