Wednesday night, at sarren & dragonfly8’s, where for the record they *asked* me to bring some classic Battlestar Galactica.  I wasn't trying to force it on anybody...

The credits for “War of the Gods” begin to play.

zebra363 & dragonfly8 to sarren:  Don’t you love the music??

Hmm. Perhaps you need to make peace with yourself and your father more than you might realise.

Do you know, I didn't even think of that. It wasn't intended to be quite so revealing! This would be why I don't tell my psychiatrist sister too much about my slash habit.

The interesting thing is that I'd lay money that my father has the same ideals and likes the same characters (for the shows he's seen) for the same reasons.

I'm fairly sure I don't want to be having this conversation in public! ::earmarks for February::

I love the focus on family in BSG. In that respect, it really is uncannily similar to Star Wars--family is coded as paramount in that too, despite the dysfuntion. I like the BSG family better, though. :)

It is good, isn't it. I especially like Adama and Apollo - they have a very loving father/son relationship and they really admire each other. Athena seems to fit in well too. Supposedly Maren Jensen is a terrible actress and that's why they downplayed her role as the series went on, but she certainly looks the part! I also like the way that Starbuck is included in their family dinners and treated almost as an adopted son. Then there's Boxey, of course, who really isn't too bad, for a six-year-old!
