Back in March last year, I got a phone call from sarren, who was on the other side of the country.

sarren:  I was in Melbourne yesterday and they had Battlestar Galactica on DVD.  It was $x.  I'm going back tomorrow... do you want me to buy it for you?

I came to the new series as a fan of the classic version, and I love them both. I was just watching the pilot the other day! *bounce*

I haven't seen the new series. The pilot of the old version is one of my all-time favourite pieces of television. I know all the plot holes and the reasons for the bad critical reviews, but they don't matter to me at all. Maybe I was at just the right age when I first saw it (about 7, I guess) to see only the good and be completely captivated - something that's always stayed with me. There are still a few eps I haven't watched since getting the DVD's, but I keep being drawn back to the pilot to re-watch particular scenes - such as the secret conversation between Adama and Tigh in the Vipers. And the scenes on Carillon. And the confrontation between Apollo and Sire Uri on the Rising Star. And, and, and.... How I love it ( ... )

I didn't know you get them.. I used to watch that when I was a little girl with my grandfather who was shamelessly indulgent.

You don't have to be shamelessly indulgent to watch BG!
