What woke me this morning

I was woken up this morning by some very loud really weird bird calls. It didn't sound like the usual honking of geese but when I looked outside, I didn't see anything. Those birds look like they have stumbled out of a Dr Seuss book!

Although, from what I can tell from pics, they look sandhill cranes.

That sound file terrified me and I'm awake! Not a gentle alarm clock at all!

I was so excited to see the cranes that I forgot to set out my poor cat's breakfast. : )
