Ten scanlations:
Chapters 42-44
Chapters 45-47
Which finishes volume 5, but I'm too lazy to put together the extra pages right now - so next week.

And even though I think the illustrations make it fairly clear how it works, ( here's a video of the 'surikae' trick in action. )

ten, scanlations, mahjong

I look forward to this stuff every week. Thank you so much gorogoro for scanlating it.

ALSO, Akagi vs Soga = win fucking win. *flails around*

You're welcome! (I actually update on Thursdays too, but I only update it on the mangaupdates site so as to not spam the comm too badly.)

Ahaha, I know, right? I love how they spent three chapters building Soga up... and them BAM. Beautiful. It's easy to see how Akagi was so awesome that he got his own spin-off.

Ahhh, I was looking for where you updated it other than here. :D And yeah, Akagi is so different in Ten, yet, so the same. It's fun to watch. And that shirt!

Also, if you never need anybody to help clean, gimme a shout. The Kaiji scanlaters never got back to me.

Hee, yeah, he's definitely the same Akagi, even if he's mellowed a bit with age. And given that shirt... man, I can only imagine what horrible print shirts he wears when in Hawaii.

Aaaaactually, provided you don't mind the lack of credit (I can't be bothered with credit pages), and the volume (25 pages/chapter x 4-6 chapters = 100-150 pages/week), I certainly wouldn't mind the help!

Thanks again, 5 Volumes in 2 1/2 months of releasing is really fast!
I can't help but wonder how Fukumoto will fill the story to fit 18 Volumes though. I don't really think the east-west battle will last that long (at least I hope so. For example the Akagi-Washizu battle is awesome, but it's lasting WAY too long), so I wonder what will happen (before the inevitable will happens)...

I was just saying that to myself the other day! (And also that I could finish all 18 volumes by the end of August if I do ~six chapters a week, but I don't know how realistic that is.)

Hmmm... mild spoiler, I guess? The East-West Battle does actually go on for another 10 volumes. But much like the Akagi vs Washizu fight, I don't think it really seems to drag too much (at least in manga form... the last half of the Akagi anime = gaaaaah.) Then again, there's a lot more different opponents in Ten, to mix it up a bit. And the showdown rounds have a few changes to the game, too, to make it more interesting for mahjong freaks like me.

Wow, still that long? Guess it shouldn't matter that much (and it should have been more obvious to me, since the east-west battle has a final (or at least main) arc feeling).

It didn't feel like the Akagi anime was really dragging to me, but that's probably because I watched it when it had already aired. I think it would be horrible to have to wait a whole month for the next chapter to show up and still have such little progress.

It's all good stuff anyway, IMO. There's some coming up that, aaah, well, I can't talk too much about right now without spoilers, but it just keeps getting better.

Hmm, kind of the opposite reaction to me. I watched all of Akagi after it had aired too, but the constant repetition of the latter half really got to me (whereas in the manga, the pages just fly by). But I can see what you mean in the case of people following the Akagi manga since the match started... ouch.

You're welcome! Honestly, the FKMT fan community is so nice to be a part of, which makes it all the more rewarding.

Great to hear! I feel the same way (although I haven't really been here for more than a week), as in I feel that the FKMT community is nice to be part of. Not that I'm scanlating or contributing with anything.

Thanks also for the vid links. I actually have some tiles in front of me now to practice some tricks, at least how to switch up a drawn tile.

Seriously, thanks for bringing fkmt's Ten manga. I've been read it since volume 1 came out. I appreciate your utmost effort of scanlating this great series.

And am I the only one that likes the sound of mahjong tiles...? XD
