GAH. This was brilliant and achy and there are so many feels in it. Madness, indeed, but justifiable.

I think the idea of universe hopping as well as death-defying blood just bring up so many difficult issues. Heartbreaking ones, really. I love that you don't have this be an easy, instant HEA reunion, but that there's hope in the end.

Fabulous work!

Thanks for the lovely comment. It's so annoying that Boyce became canon just as they killed off Pike. :( I put a lot of thought in trying to come up with some kind of fix-it. Eventually I might get around to looking at the consequences of the blood thing, we'll see, the latter half of the movie didn't grip that much.

I'm all about the fix-it. I've just never been able to handle death of beloved characters, not without traumatizing myself greatly.

And now that Boyce is canon, I can imagine fix-its. And I plan to.

This is so lovely...a beautiful balance of tense and achy and then sweet and hopeful at the end. Poor Phil, and poor Christopher in this too...you manage to do a great job with making Chris and Christopher, and Phil and Phillip very different people. And I didn't say this in the beta, but I am SO glad you didn't have Phil hit the TOS universe, it would have been heart-breaking to see Chris like that....thanks so much for this dear...I needed fix it fic....

I wasn't going to go near TOS. I never much liked TOS Pike and the state they had him in makes no sense with current medical technology, let alone future stuff.
I'm glad the four characters came across as distinct, that was part of what made in interesting to write, trying to make them show similar underlying impulses but be independent people.

Whoa, what an unusual story.

I loved how (madly) dedicated this Phil is, and how he realizes during the meeting that no matter what he does, he won't get *his* Chris back. They do connect but are still two very different people in a different universe.

Great use of the alternate timeline concept!

Thanks, it was great fun to explore what the problems might be of this sort of timeline hopping.

What an amazing idea! I really like this, especially that it's a hopeful but not fully happy ending. (Also, hi, sorry I'm three years late. *g*)

Thanks! It is always cool to get love on old stories, especially the rare pairings.
