I love octopii anyway, and you manage to give this one so much intelligence and personality. It's a wonderful idea that it's a Kirk project gone wrong--I wonder if Kirk will come to regret it?

I think Kirk already knows to regret it. You don't gift a rival with a weapon like that, particularly a weapon that can be neither threatened nor charmed by the Capt. Bones gets such a raw deal in MU fic, he deserves a break.
