Oh, that was really lovely. I've been quite selective about my post-Reichenbach reading (yes, I might the joining the avalanche of people with fics in the works *g*) but Lestrade's perspective is such a refreshing one, and I love the way you've depicted John through his eyes:
how aggressively banal they all were, as if John was determined that nothing extraordinary would ever happen to him again is such a master stroke, I love it :D
I will be all over your Sherlock fic when you write it. Lestrade is my Pike, a way into the universe, when I'm not confident with the main character (Jim / Sherlock).
