It totally made my morning to see this on my flist! I love how you show both men's insecurities and issues, and the way they try to work them out both with words and with their bodies. Pike's underestimating how hard it would be to help Jim with the Enterprise rings completely true to me. The whole thing was very hot and very satisfying.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. That moment in the film when Pike looks delighted to hand the Enterprise to Jim just has to hide a multitude of negative emotions. It is fascinating to try and explore them.

Yay, so happy to see this up. I love the way you do post-Narada Pike, with no holding back on all the possible ways in which his life will suck, at least for a while. I also really like how Jim manages to hold his own in this, and his confession of how he'd planned to seduce Chris in the far distant future is so sweet and just a little heartbreaking for it's reminde of how things have changed for all of them. I'll say it again, even though I'm repeating myself, I love how you do angry!sex and then make it come out alright in the end...lovely work.

Thanks! The end of movie always seemed to me such an unreal happy gloss over what must have been terrible for everyone concerned in so many ways. It is interesting to explore some of that while trying to give them a path out of it.
