I liked this a lot. I'm glad Chris had someone like Archer that he could rely on in what would have otherwise been such an emotionally cold childhood.

Also, Chris being all sore after his encounter with Phil hits a major kink of mine. ;-)

:) I'm glad you liked. I have a real soft spot for this fic. I have a whole back canon for this Pike in which he is a real handful but also has had a very hard time. And Archer totally thinks of Chris as the son he should have had!

AWWWWW. This was wonderful! I love Archer in this, how he is that mentor, the father figure that helped Chris when his own dad was such an idiot, and especially that he wasn't above talking to Chris about Boyce, helping Chris a bit more.

I loved the ending, the emotion was real and touching.

Aside of the very sexy aspects of this story I like that this Pike seems to be a rebel similar to Kirk, though more toned-down. Makes sense :))

Also, I like Archer a lot, as long as he appears in Reboot fic and not in ENT ;)

Thanks! I think there must be reasons Pike can get through to Kirk where other authority figures can't. Lord knows what Archer is doing alive and kicking at this point in time, but I'll blame the script writers for that.

You know how I feel about this, but I'll say it again - lovely, lovely, lovely...so long as canon is going to give us Archer (and his beagles) to play with, we might as well make use of him. And what lovely use you made, a father-figure for wild young Christopher. The mental image of a frustrated, brooding Boyce is pretty happy-making too.
