The answer is clearly a resounding yes. The Canadian Prime Minister has just under 30,000 fans on Facebook. The onion ring by comparison has amassed 105,775 in just 2 days. Google Trends also provides some interesting data...

While I haven't had a lot of opportunity to update my blog, I manage to snag free moments here and there to keep up on Twitter. Turns out the City of Calgary is on twitter.
