THE SURPRISES DON'T STOP COMING WITH MOTHER 3
Actually a few disjointed thoughts about the last part that occurred to me lately -
-Duster losing his memory and restarting his life as Lucky actually foreshadows the eventual reveal for what happened to Tazmily! Haha. I always assumed it was because he was holding the Egg or accidentally triggered it or whatever, so he even lost his memory in the same way because of the same thing. Though he actually eventually got it back. Well, the second set back. So presumably one way or another the Egg just stores memories (and concepts?) and can give them back to you if you ever want them back.
-We know that the people of Tazmily forgot how to use money and seem to have forgot a lot about personal property, since they're pretty chill with just sharing everything they have. What other things specifically did they forget though? They wanted to eliminate the aspects of their life that led to the apocalypse the last time, and obviously money was a big one. What else though?
They have a jail, even though no one commits any crimes so its empty. So they know what crime is, just no one ever seems motivated to do it.
They don't have a hospital or a doctor (altho I've seen some fic theorize that Scamp was the doctor before he got bedridden), and Tessie I guess is the closest thing they have to a nurse. It's possible though that a doctor just wasn't a member of the survivor group. Maybe they ask the Magypsies for help when people get hurt. :O Or use the magical hot springs, haha.

People still write letters, so they can read and write. Though whether or not there are any books in Tazmily is another question.
They seemed to trust the Magypsies pretty quickly in order to just toss a baby at them pretty much immediately instead of having Kumatora raised by... pretty much any other family in town (I wonder if Wes really wanted to take her? He seems so fond of her). Maybe the Magypsies helped them when they landed? Maybe Kumatora had some inklings of PSI and that freaked everyone out, and the Magypsies were like OOO WE CAN TEACH HER~
Either way, it was decided to give Kumatora to them to raise. Which is odd, since later on when you're walking around with Ionia, a few people seem sort of weirded out by her. So they didn't forget to be afraid of unfamiliar things (or forget about homophobia I guess? It seems like they assume Ionia is a gay dude most of the time). Although no one seems to have any problems with Reggie, so racism doesn't seem to be a problem (man, Reggie must be pretty lonely). Though to be fair, not EVERYone has a problem with Ionia, just a few people - most of the people in town liked Ionia just fine and some thought she was pretty, haha. So I guess like any normal town, you'll have varying opinions on something, though again, that does imply that that wasn't something that was wiped from everyone's memories.
Maybe it just didn't occur to them. There aren't any same sex couples or anything in Tazmily, after all. UNLESS THAT'S THE SHOCKING SECRET BEHIND WHY LIGHTER IS A SINGLE DAD - LIGHTERWIFE WAS ACTUALLY LIGHTERHUSBAND!! But on an individual level for each villager who knows, right?
When Fassad first shows up, people are pretty skeptical about it at first and are mostly happy on their own and don't listen. Only four people at first are sort of curious about being happy, and of them, I think Isaac was the closest to actually being unhappy while the others were sort of curious. Though Biff could have his own reasons for being unhappy, sure. Abbot and Abbey not so much. But everyone else wasn't convinced at first, so they didn't forget how to be skeptical or anything like that. The town didn't roll over completely when evil first showed up, it just insinuated its way in slowly through cracks in the story, then used the thunder tower to help muscle everyone else along. But they didn't fall for it completely.
However, that does imply that feeling dissatisfied or unhappy weren't forgotten either. Also Bob and Matt seem to have some big drinking problems, so they know how to make alcohol still.

Yes it's true, the King's Statue has one hundred million HP. That's not an exaggeration, it literally has one hundred million HP as you can see here. AND THE ONLY WAY TO BRING IT DOWN IS THE NEW YEARS EVE BOMB

Actually that's not true, you can also use PK Flash and hope you get lucky. But considering almost all the statue's attacks do huge amounts of mortal damage like every turn, those are pretty much your only options for taking it down. Some madmen have tried to take the statue down without using either of those things, but it's seriously impossible. Doing some math with the maximum amount of damage you can do a turn (even with infinite HP so you can't die), you'd have to spend almost THIRTY DAYS doing damage to the statue to actually kill it. And then if you use codes to make your characters do absurd amounts of damage, it can STILL take hours and apparently once something takes enough damage, the game crashes ANYWAY so you still can't win.
So the King Statue is seriously pretty much impossible to beat. SUCK IT, OPTIONAL BOSSES FROM OTHER GAMES, THE KING STATUE IS STRAIGHT UP INVINCIBLE without Flash or the right bomb.

And the final confirmation of what you might have suspected. The final traitor Magypsy was in fact... Fassad. Thus the name Facade, haha. Although interestingly apparently Fassad also means corruption in Arabic! Isn't that neat? IT WORKS ON SO MANY LEVELS
As mentioned his name was Yokuba before, which I think came from the word for "greed".
BUT FASSAD WAS SECRETLY THE LAST MAGYPSY (which is why the music that plays after he can't talk and needs an interpretor sounds so much like the basic magypsy theme)
WHICH OPENS UP A WHOLE BUNCH OF QUESTIONS, DOESN'T IT
What could have motivated Locria to turn against their fellow Magypsies and tell Pokey about the needles? What did they have to gain from doing that? It makes you wonder. It's possible that Locria was just tired of existing, or that Locria was sort of on a neutral, who cares about humans point and then Pokey just pushed them to become crueler and crueler. After all, Mixolydia was pretty flippant about human lives when you first meet them. Maybe the idea of toying with the humans in Tazmily seemed like fun the way Pokey phrased it.
But really what does Locria gain from telling Pokey about it anyway, or about the White Ship? Maybe Pokey promised Locria to give them unlimited power once the Dragon was under his control or something. Or wish them back to life even since pulling the needles would kill the Magypsies regardless. There are probably bunches of theories you could come up with for it, but basically in the end, Locria still told Pokey how to kill not only them, but all the Magypsies, so that either didn't bother Locria, or they didn't think Pokey could actually do it, or they had an out somehow like maybe they thought they could betray Pokey before it happened, or they actually wanted to stop existing.
But it did occur to me just recently that even at the end, Ionia didn't know what happened to Locria or where they were... so all the other Magypsies died without ever finding out that it was Locria that betrayed them. They never even seemed to suspect Locria would be behind it all - they trusted Locria to the very end, even though they hadn't seen them for a long time. Locria didn't show up at the first Magypsy party in chapter one, after all.
They could sense people coming close to Locria's needle though, but not enough to tell where Locria was or what they were doing. It's just sort of sad to think they never found that out.
It's also kind of interesting to think that of them all, Locria seemed most comfortable pretending to be a human man (and the mouse does refer to them as "he"). Maybe they just never fit in with how the other Magypsies all tend towards female pronouns. Though presumably Locria has pink hair just like all the other Magypsies, haha.
The mouse also makes you wonder. We saw earlier in Salsa's chapter that Fassad could be incredibly cruel towards animals without even feeling a hint of regret about it. Actually a few disjointed thoughts about the last part that occurred to me lately -
-Duster losing his memory and restarting his life as Lucky actually foreshadows the eventual reveal for what happened to Tazmily! Haha. I always assumed it was because he was holding the Egg or accidentally triggered it or whatever, so he even lost his memory in the same way because of the same thing. Though he actually eventually got it back. Well, the second set back. So presumably one way or another the Egg just stores memories (and concepts?) and can give them back to you if you ever want them back.
-We know that the people of Tazmily forgot how to use money and seem to have forgot a lot about personal property, since they're pretty chill with just sharing everything they have. What other things specifically did they forget though? They wanted to eliminate the aspects of their life that led to the apocalypse the last time, and obviously money was a big one. What else though?
They have a jail, even though no one commits any crimes so its empty. So they know what crime is, just no one ever seems motivated to do it.
They don't have a hospital or a doctor (altho I've seen some fic theorize that Scamp was the doctor before he got bedridden), and Tessie I guess is the closest thing they have to a nurse. It's possible though that a doctor just wasn't a member of the survivor group. Maybe they ask the Magypsies for help when people get hurt. :O Or use the magical hot springs, haha.

People still write letters, so they can read and write. Though whether or not there are any books in Tazmily is another question.
They seemed to trust the Magypsies pretty quickly in order to just toss a baby at them pretty much immediately instead of having Kumatora raised by... pretty much any other family in town (I wonder if Wes really wanted to take her? He seems so fond of her). Maybe the Magypsies helped them when they landed? Maybe Kumatora had some inklings of PSI and that freaked everyone out, and the Magypsies were like OOO WE CAN TEACH HER~
Either way, it was decided to give Kumatora to them to raise. Which is odd, since later on when you're walking around with Ionia, a few people seem sort of weirded out by her. So they didn't forget to be afraid of unfamiliar things (or forget about homophobia I guess? It seems like they assume Ionia is a gay dude most of the time). Although no one seems to have any problems with Reggie, so racism doesn't seem to be a problem (man, Reggie must be pretty lonely). Though to be fair, not EVERYone has a problem with Ionia, just a few people - most of the people in town liked Ionia just fine and some thought she was pretty, haha. So I guess like any normal town, you'll have varying opinions on something, though again, that does imply that that wasn't something that was wiped from everyone's memories.
Maybe it just didn't occur to them. There aren't any same sex couples or anything in Tazmily, after all. UNLESS THAT'S THE SHOCKING SECRET BEHIND WHY LIGHTER IS A SINGLE DAD - LIGHTERWIFE WAS ACTUALLY LIGHTERHUSBAND!! But on an individual level for each villager who knows, right?
When Fassad first shows up, people are pretty skeptical about it at first and are mostly happy on their own and don't listen. Only four people at first are sort of curious about being happy, and of them, I think Isaac was the closest to actually being unhappy while the others were sort of curious. Though Biff could have his own reasons for being unhappy, sure. Abbot and Abbey not so much. But everyone else wasn't convinced at first, so they didn't forget how to be skeptical or anything like that. The town didn't roll over completely when evil first showed up, it just insinuated its way in slowly through cracks in the story, then used the thunder tower to help muscle everyone else along. But they didn't fall for it completely.
However, that does imply that feeling dissatisfied or unhappy weren't forgotten either. Also Bob and Matt seem to have some big drinking problems, so they know how to make alcohol still.

Actually that's not true, you can also use PK Flash and hope you get lucky. But considering almost all the statue's attacks do huge amounts of mortal damage like every turn, those are pretty much your only options for taking it down. Some madmen have tried to take the statue down without using either of those things, but it's seriously impossible. Doing some math with the maximum amount of damage you can do a turn (even with infinite HP so you can't die), you'd have to spend almost THIRTY DAYS doing damage to the statue to actually kill it. And then if you use codes to make your characters do absurd amounts of damage, it can STILL take hours and apparently once something takes enough damage, the game crashes ANYWAY so you still can't win.
So the King Statue is seriously pretty much impossible to beat. SUCK IT, OPTIONAL BOSSES FROM OTHER GAMES, THE KING STATUE IS STRAIGHT UP INVINCIBLE without Flash or the right bomb.

And the final confirmation of what you might have suspected. The final traitor Magypsy was in fact... Fassad. Thus the name Facade, haha. Although interestingly apparently Fassad also means corruption in Arabic! Isn't that neat? IT WORKS ON SO MANY LEVELS
As mentioned his name was Yokuba before, which I think came from the word for "greed".
BUT FASSAD WAS SECRETLY THE LAST MAGYPSY (which is why the music that plays after he can't talk and needs an interpretor sounds so much like the basic magypsy theme)
WHICH OPENS UP A WHOLE BUNCH OF QUESTIONS, DOESN'T IT
What could have motivated Locria to turn against their fellow Magypsies and tell Pokey about the needles? What did they have to gain from doing that? It makes you wonder. It's possible that Locria was just tired of existing, or that Locria was sort of on a neutral, who cares about humans point and then Pokey just pushed them to become crueler and crueler. After all, Mixolydia was pretty flippant about human lives when you first meet them. Maybe the idea of toying with the humans in Tazmily seemed like fun the way Pokey phrased it.
But really what does Locria gain from telling Pokey about it anyway, or about the White Ship? Maybe Pokey promised Locria to give them unlimited power once the Dragon was under his control or something. Or wish them back to life even since pulling the needles would kill the Magypsies regardless. There are probably bunches of theories you could come up with for it, but basically in the end, Locria still told Pokey how to kill not only them, but all the Magypsies, so that either didn't bother Locria, or they didn't think Pokey could actually do it, or they had an out somehow like maybe they thought they could betray Pokey before it happened, or they actually wanted to stop existing.
But it did occur to me just recently that even at the end, Ionia didn't know what happened to Locria or where they were... so all the other Magypsies died without ever finding out that it was Locria that betrayed them. They never even seemed to suspect Locria would be behind it all - they trusted Locria to the very end, even though they hadn't seen them for a long time. Locria didn't show up at the first Magypsy party in chapter one, after all.
They could sense people coming close to Locria's needle though, but not enough to tell where Locria was or what they were doing. It's just sort of sad to think they never found that out.
It's also kind of interesting to think that of them all, Locria seemed most comfortable pretending to be a human man (and the mouse does refer to them as "he"). Maybe they just never fit in with how the other Magypsies all tend towards female pronouns. Though presumably Locria has pink hair just like all the other Magypsies, haha.
The mouse also makes you wonder. We saw earlier in Salsa's chapter that Fassad could be incredibly cruel towards animals without even feeling a hint of regret about it.
