And now they are stuck with the names that don't belong to actual people...
Strange, a long time ago, when this first began, you couldn't find names for them, but I thought it would be fitting because it was just Smoker and Hunter together, so Smoker would probably just say "you" (or any other endearing nickname) while Hunter could lovingly nickname her buddy "Smoker" for being so good at it.
And yet, now we have these two formally introducing themselves as "Hunter" and "Smoker" to strangers :(
A bit too late to go back on the gears of time and try to give them some decent names, eh?
Haha I still think of Hunter/Smoker/Charger/Jockey as placeholder names for whatever their real names end up being. So they use it to refer to each other but at the same time it's still not their REAL name, if that makes sense? Like if they did ever get names I'd just go back and find/replace the placeholders with the new ones. Although at the same time, I've gotten so used to calling them by those placeholders that it's going to feel really weird if/when they ever get other names, haha. I DUNNO IF THIS MAKES SENSE TO ANYONE BUT ME
Pointless. You just tell yourself you will be able to give them names and turn back on the wheels of time, but we all know that will not be!
Even if you somehow come up with clever names that still hint at their place-holders... you are too attached to them now. The damage is irreversible! ;_;
In the first image, I spent a few seconds trying to understand why hunter has little wings. Mousygirl is totally acting like a self-insert, except the world isn't cooperating.
Glad to hear you saw the original English dub of Totoro! I rented that a bazillion times as a kid. The Disney one was just...jarring. I think it's awesome how you worked in the ladies' stories with the original. :D Your Totoro is amazing, lol~
Mine too! :O I really fell in love with Miyazaki's works after that. I think the first anime series I actually watched were Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z.
I think mine was mostly Akira and Totoro until high school I think, and then I expanded out from there. OH and the redubbed anime they played on Nickolodeon like Grimm's Fairy Tales and other movies I had no idea were anime for ages, haha. Like Unico.
