~Getting blessed by James Johnson from space

Yessssss thanks so much guys, more holes in my Pokemon song collection filled. :D

I went to see Footloose: THE MUSICAL yesterday with my cousins and grandparents and everything. Fun times! It was actually pretty good for a musical based on a very goofy movie, haha.

I was just thinking about Solidus (...him?) and the election season last year with Obama and McCain. Apparently Solidus was elected in 2001 (which can't be right, they must mean 2000 because there was no election in 2001) when he was only 27/28, which is AGAINST THE LAW (you must be 35 at least to be president) so I assume that Solidus has some forged birth certificates or something and possibly an entire false history. But thinking about it, there must have been a bunch of factors against Solidus being elected in the first place, if we look at this like a normal election (which it must have appeared to be, despite the Patriots rigging it). Solidus as far as we know wasn't married and had no kids (unless he had a wife for appearances/that he actually loved we don't know and adopted kids, which wow that makes his death kind of depressing), and the US has only had one unmarried president (James Buchanan in 1857, who sucked). People find that sort of thing untrustworthy in general - Whoever Solidus was running against must have used that information against him.

Can you imagine the smear campaigns that would have gone against Solidus? An unmarried war vet with a mysterious past and a birth certificate/early history that just "doesn't add up". And people will not let that sort of thing go if the Obama birth certificate thing is any indication (although I think that's partly racially motivated, so Solidus wouldn't have to deal with that necessarily). Not only that, they could've played his similarity to Big Boss up too - I forget how this exactly went, but if people feared Big Boss as a big psycho after Zanzibarland (did news of that ever get out?), they could say that Solidus wanted to do the same thing, maybe they were secretly related, whatever. Or if Big Boss was a big hero, they could have played Solidus up as his second coming.

Speaking of which, election season must have been weird for Snake. EVERYWHERE HE TURNS, BIG BOSS IS THERE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT DDD: WHY WON'T HE DIE?! no wonder snake had ptsd for ages

Also Solidus probably had no political experience, not being a senator or congressman or governor or anything (or only for a few years, not a lot of time between killing Raiden's parents and becoming President). Instant points against him - fuel for a thousand negative ads right there. Was Solidus a good debater, an eloquent speaker? Who was he running against? What party was he running with, democrats or republicans or third party? He would have had to go head to head with some guy who would most likely be twenty/thirty years older than him with a ton more experience with issues like health care and foreign policy and the general mechanics of the american political system. What was Solidus's health care plan, or his stance on stem cell research and taxes and gay marriage? If this was 2000, what did he do about the dotcom burst and subsequent recession? How did he react to 9/11, if that still happened? What was his stance on foreign policy? Was he a good diplomat? Who was in his cabinet? (Ocelot? :O)

He was president until February 2005 (so apparently Solidus got elected to a second term, so either he was popular or his opponent sucked. Putting aside Patriot interference anyway.) and then he resigned over the Shadow Moses thing, which means his vice president (James Johnson - same dude from MGS2 who molested raiden and just loved jumping into your missiles >:() took charge for the rest of the term, then got elected as president himself in 2008. But that means that Solidus had four rather undisturbed years in office as President as far as we know. What did he do? What policies did he put into place? What did he do about education? How did he deal with congress and the senate and general bipartisan bickering? What were his approval ratings? Did the people like him? Were they disappointed when Shadow Moses went down because he'd done so much for them, or did they expect something like that because he was such a terrible president?

Did people protest his resignation, since it could have been spun into being abraham lincolnHouseman's fault, since he ostensibly did the whole thing on his own (not true, but would anyone know that)? How much did the public learn about what happened with Shadow Moses? Didn't Solidus take a strong anti-nuclear stance? Was he a pacifist president who didn't want to involve the US in foreign entanglements, or was he more active in policing foreign countries? What did he do with Cuba? Did he keep us out of the Iraq War? Did he talk about his war history training boys to kill people? (My guess would be no).

What was his platform when he was running for President? What was his slogan, his logo, his "thing"? What made the Sears-Johnson ticket more appealing than their opponents? What was his relationship with Johnson, were they friends? How did Johnson balance out the ticket (I assume he'd level it out on the experience level)? What kind of ads did he run? I mean, even with the Patriots controlling info, Solidus couldn't have been a complete screwup doing this because people might suspect something if he got elected anyway (on the other hand, people can be really stupid). Was it a close race or a landslide or a repeat of the Gore-Bush debacle where the Patriots just nudged Solidus into place by an inch? Did the media love Solidus? Did Fox News love/hate Solidus? What would The Daily Show have been like while Solidus was president?

Did Otacon vote for Solidus in 2000?

WHY ON EARTH AM I THINKING ABOUT ANY OF THIS

Here, have a bizarre chibi I found in my sketchbook when I woke up one morning that I have no recollection of drawing.
