GOT SIMS 3

It's interesting. EA apparently decided to take out a third of the content and put it in the online store so you have to pay more money for it. That is a stupid stupid idea and I'm not paying more money for something I should already have, and thankfully modders agree. Hahahaha I can't believe they thought this would work ( Read more... )

if you squint it could be a review, sim pictoventures

EA is a bunch of moneygrubbing bastards who do not give two shits about their customers and think they can get away with this kind of stunt

edit: and I say this as someone who worked for videogame retail stores for three years and saw it alllllll the time

The UI looks kinda huge!

I approve of being able to choose shoes though, skin tones and make proper looking fat people (and muscly people)

And the trait system COULD be kinda interesting.
And lifelong aspirations are cute!
UMM
BUT MY PEOPLE HAVING LIVES OF THEIR OWN DISTURBS ME. ON MANY LEVELS. Hmm!

This is going to be a decision that takes days. Make more posts! (EA stop being jerks)

So how well does the UI scale if you bump the resolution up higher? Or have you not tested that yet?

IN OTHER HILLARIOUS NEWS. IE 8 and Firefox aren't supported by their computer checker thing. Eitehr that or Spybot is blocking it. WAY TO NOT ENTICE ME TO BUY YOUR GAME GUYS.

Thanks for posting the screencaps and descriptions! I'm pretty sure that if I ever get the Sims 3, it won't be soon, but it's good to see that there are some improvements along with the 'fugliness' I've been hearing so much about. D:

There are definitely some improvements! And the socializations have been expanded a bit which is cool. But there are also problems for sure. D:

Actually I poked around in the options and you can disable aging and "story progression", that is, letting other sims in the neighborhood have lives of their own. :o Shoot nevermind, just noticed you said you heard it doesn't work. Really? I haven't tried making another family yet so I don't know. D:

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed by how limited the customization is, in terms of hair and such. I was pleasantly surprised that you can customize specific colors on parts of an outfit now, though! Now all it needs is more accessories or something, IDK.

I do however agree that making everything else pay-only is a dick move. EA what the fuck, don't pull that on us!

THAT'S WHAT I HEARD i haven't tried multiple families yet myself either so

And yeah I expected more hair. Or at least the same hair from Sims 2. It couldn't be that hard to port, right? Although the color customization is very cool.
