~Fun with Quest for Glory I - Erasmus and Fenrus
So I got the final badge in Spore, the one for Omnipotent? Now I guess it's a matter of collecting things, which I'll get on in a bit. The combat in the Space stage is really obnoxious and I kept getting harassed by these other races while I was trying to terraform or whatever so I finally ended up just killing them all to stop them from bugging me. I CAN'T HELP IT THEY WERE ASKING FOR IT ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TERRAFORM AND TRADE SPICE IN PEACE
I really do enjoy terraforming though, it's fun. :B And just zipping around and trading is fun too or looking around for new colonies or whatever. I need to see if I can get some screencaps of my houses and buildings and creatures or whatever at some point. I like my buildings, they're reall rather odd looking. I have REX and RAY as my land and sea vehicles, and Samus's Gunship as my space ship. And the Metroid item fanfare as my national anthem. AS USUAL, A FANDOM CLUSTER%@#%. Heh. My creatures (the Agents from planet H.A.R.M.) don't really look like anything off hand. They've got eight limbs and top hats. heh. I should go through and play another game with like... a VUX or a Spathi or something.
Fun times though! I'm really enjoying it. :D After I killed those two races that kept bugging me anyway. THE GAME WAS PUSHING ME TO BECOME A WAR MONGER WHAT THEY KEPT GETTING IN MY WAY AND BUGGING ME THEY DESERVED TO DIE.

Their little theme is pretty silly sounding. The main theme with a goofy little backbeat. :D Hee hee. This wasn't included with my files so I just ripped it real quick with DOSbox. :B
Ha ha. Erasmus loves jokes. Every now and then, he'll tell you a joke. You may remember how I mentioned timer issues with the Space Quest I thing? They come into play here again. These games were never intended to run on computers as fast as ours are now. This is back in the days of DOS, before Windows, before CD-Rom drives. They were programmed to be as fast as possible on the hardware we currently had, but when things upgraded, this caused problems.
Notably, Erasmus has two timer based actions. He tells you jokes, and he drinks from his teacup. You can't talk to him while he's drinking, and you can't talk to him when he tells you a joke. What the timer problems did was make it so Erasmus would rapidfire tell you jokes, so fast you couldn't actually talk to him, then drink from his teacup before you could ask him anything. You can ruin his jokes if you want (by saying you already know the answer) but he gets really annoyed after a while and kicks you out. Basically the timer issues made talking to Erasmus a nightmare and nearly impossible.
Thankfully, DOSbox fixes all that. :D
