I need
to stop spilling sticky things on this keyboard.
I spent most of today playing jump rope with a little girl. A few boys were playing for a while but then they got bored. I learned a few jump rope chants I didn't know before, like...
Ice cream soda pop cherry on top
Who's your boy/girlfriend I forgot
A, B, C, D... (whatever letter you stop on, you have to name someone with whose name starts with that letter. Instant hilarity!)
And something like
Mexico Texaco
over the hill (here you switch from the rope on the ground to spinning it for real) to Mexico
where they do the splits, the splits, the splits
And they turn around, around, around
And they touch the ground, the ground, the ground
And I don't know if there's more, no one got past that point. I dunno, I think playground chants are neat. SHUT UP. I also played basketball with some kids and found out that I'm absolutely terrible at it. WOOHOO.
Note the icon? Hee hee. I am really enjoying the Monkey Island series a ton. I've gotten to the second CD of Curse of Monkey Island and I'm fighting the urge to play more as we speak.
Anyway BACK TO DAY OF THE TENTACLE. But first, something special! Remember how I mentioned that the most recent version of DOSbox lets you record movies? Well, I went and
recorded the intro for Day of the Tentacle for those who can't get the game to work or just want a copy to watch whenever they want! It's about five and a half minutes long and 30 megs and super great.
The thing is that you need to download a codec to watch it. I used the start menu after I installed DOSbox 0.65 to install it, but I'm not sure how to do it without doing that. I've given it a shot though! You can download the .dll file for the codec
here and the .inf file
here from my domain. The .inf file has the info fer how ta install it, but I'm not sure how ta install it without the DOSbox set up start menu thing...I'm not the most amazing codec installer ever. :O Um...maybe
this one will also work.
The simplest way is just to
download and install DOSbox 0.65, then use the start menu to go to the DOSbox tab, then the video tab, then install codec. I'd recommend doing that, it's not a big program and then after the codec's installed you can uninstall DOSbox and you can still watch any videos I put up after. :D IT'LL BE WORTH IT, I SWEAR. COME ON.
I also reuploaded a better rar version of DOTT that SHOULD work. It's still on file factory but this rar file should be more completely put tagether than my other one, and if ya had trouble gettin the other one ta work this one should do it.
Tadaah.
ANYWAY DAY OF THE TENTACLE LET'S GO
Previous screencap adventure editions First, some voice clips!
Bernard going whee"Bernard, float over here so I can punch you."Hoagie snorting. Hee hee.Laverne: Well, I gotta go arrange your death now.Laverne: I think I'm going to kill you.I'm not sure what item Laverne is looking at hereLaverne: He looks like a beauty queen! (the way she says this cracks me up)
I love it when they break the fourth wallLaverne going wheeLaverne: I don't think killing an old man will help...yet.Another snip of Washington I'm using ash.com cause dowasure was acting kinda weird today, so WOO. Hopefully you won't even notice.
Anyway, we just unlocked Laverne, so let's go see what's happening with her in the future!
The guard sounds kind of...I dunno, hard to describe I guess.
How he says this line "Have you seen a gangly human around?" Hehehe, gangly is right.
hee hee hee
Woah, strong language fer a game like this.
Hahahahahaaa
How he says this lineMocking the system and
tentacles in general (hee hee, the last one is great).
All the kids start with their own item. Bernard has his textbook, Hoagie has a can opener, and Laverne has a scalpel. The scalpel is fun to play with. :D
And then I missed a line in here, I think. WOOPS. Well I think you can figure out where he was going with this anyway.
Haha I love how the -ed ending is such a running thing with their family.
Hee hee.
Hahaha
>D
If I KNEW them, that'd be a different story!
How Laverne says this line. I love how she starts giggling halfway through.
The Tentacle guard hops off his chair in this neat animation, but I only got this goofy looking screencap. FOOSH RIGHT THROUGH THE CEILING
Hee hee, Dr. Tentacle just has a labcoat.
Dr. Tentacle has this british accent.
I love Laverne.
Dr. Tentacle is officially weirded out.
How he does this line Alright, time to wander around!
Neither do I.
>D
Hehehe.
I love how it's a stick figure. TENTACLES CARE SO MUCH.
No human chart fer me I guess.
Hahaha Laverne walks SO weird, but I can't rip the sprites fer it cause fer some reason they come out all distorted. Maybe I'll try some more later, but fer now you'll just hafta imagine it.
Hahahahaaaa I dunno why that amuses me so much.
Front room! One of those humans looks familiar, eh?
How she says this The fact that Harold looks just like George Washington amuses me SO MUCH. Harold has this outrageous French accent.
How he says this I dunno, does anyone else have trouble picturing a tentacle actually caring about a human? I just think that mental picture is so weird.
MY HAIR SPONTAENEOUSLY SPROUTS LIGHTNING BOLTS
When I was younger, I was deeply confused about whether Harold was a girl or a boy. I think it was the tutu that threw me.
>D
Aww.
Back to the hallway!
Old Purple basically just sounds like Purple Tentacle except old. Nothing really notable there.
His soldier dude sounds just like a soldier, really.
Here's how he does this line.
Hahahahaha humophiles.
I want to mutilate a hot pocket beyond recognition.
Random white hole. WHO KNOWS.
I actually should have visited this maybe earlier, but this room looks exactly the same from the present. As one can probably tell.
LET'S TALK TO THE TENTACLE GUARD
Hee hee.
Hee hee hee. The tentacle guard has a kind of english accent...like that hunter guy in Jumanji, or in almost every cartoon ever. Just think of the stereotypical safari hunter accent, and that's the accent this guy has.
Glued to this spot indeed TOUCH
HINT HINT our next goal! Getting Laverne a tentacle costume!
Next up, let's get cracking on that costume!
