Question of the Day

What’s the best way to get rid of the evil monkey in the closet?

Tiny notes because really, the main attraction of this post is the evil monkey:

Jesus, I’m writing case!fic, and chances are it will be ridiculous.

Also, I finally managed to re-upload two more Bandom stories to AO3 (here), although I’m wondering whether there even are people still ( Read more... )

bandom&fic, good question, random stuff

I feel like I've moved on, only not, since every time I read/hear/see something about Nu!Panic I get irrationally angry. Like, venomously angry. Which...probably isn't healthy. /o\

And FTR, yes, there are still people reading bandom fic!

Yeah, I totally get that because I was like that for a while - glaring when I saw new pictures pop up somewhere, with this strange knot in my stomach because it just wasn't right, okay?! Not on! Now, well, I still move on really quickly when I come across any new pictures and will not, in a million years, check whether there is new music (I suppose there is, if they're giving concerts), but at least I can stomach old pictures. And I moved a couple of songs from Fever back to my "Music for Running" folder.

Strange, though: I find it much easier to listen to Fever than to Pretty Odd.

Um. Okay, maybe not quite over Panic just yet, come to think of it. Hon, we should form a support group. Like, the Broken Hearts Club.

Case!fic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am about half done with bandom, MCR still hold on to that one part of my heart that just can't let go. But nu!Panic and any news regarding them leaves me with a big 'Meh!' and I move on.
Okay, and maybe sometimes there is this irrational urge to shake my fist at the sky and cry at the unfairness of it all .. uhm, but, yes, over it. Mostly meh though, definitely not going to any concerts!

Oh and now to actually reply to your original question: maybe the evil monkey in the closet is actually scared of laughter, like the monsters from Monster's Inc.?
Or, depending on who you ask, shooting it with a gun might work? (Make it a water gun to be more kids friendly.)

GET A GUN!!! Hmm. Would that advice come from Kono or Steve? Probably Kono. Steve would recommend dynamite or some such, just to make sure it's really dead.

Heeee! I was actually going to suggest blowing it up as a Steve answer, Kono and Steve can totally tag team it though!

Tempting it with bananas?

I'm still reading bandom fics but more re-reading the ones I loved. I'm meh-ish about the Nu!Panic and frankly couldn't care less.

Ha. Pretend to be its friend, then knock it over the head with a dull object! I like that; it's sneaky.

I haven't read a single Bandom fic since the split. There are so many that I really, really loved (wow, Bandom had incredibly talented authors), but I don't even want to come close because I think it would make me sad.

I'm still in love with and regularly reading (and rereading) bandom, but then I came in late and wasn't quite as invested when the splits happened. But anyhow, I for one am glad to see your stuff go up on AO3 - then I get to save it as a pdf and stick it on my kindle - bandom on the run!

Maybe the coming in late helped. For me, what initially drew me to Panic was that incredibly close friendship they had, this us-against-the-world vibe. And, well, once that was shut to hell... *sad sigh*

But hey, if at least one person appreciates the effort, I guess I'll try. I mean, I don't like the idea of my fic being just gone from the net anyway, so with time, I might be able to re-upload most of what the hacker deleted. It's just that there is a lot of stuff I might not even have anymore. (Yeah, backup copies are friends.)

I, for one, appreciate you continuing to post your old fics. I entered bandom somewhere in the middle, and I'm still going back and reading older stuff that I wasn't around for, so, yes, THANK YOU. It's nice that you're willing to repost stuff that you're no longer emotionally invested in. :)

So you read stories that are new to you even though Bandom doesn't exist anymore? (Well, I think MCR still exists. Last band standing.) Okay, that's interesting! I thought it was mostly people going back and reading old comfort fics...

Yes, indeed. Bandom doesn't feel dead to me, yet, and I still read new stuff, as well. But part of that is the fact that I have recently gotten into MCR, which is definitely still chugging along. And there are TONS of old fics in MCR bandom that I'm digging into. Panic is still my fave, though, even thought there are fewer of those these days.

Mostly, I have trouble changing fandoms, I think. I hung onto Lotrips waaaay past its prime. And my heart still belongs to Brendon, so... yeah. Sticking around. :)
