Glad to hear Colin is back on the set in one piece. Don't scare us like that! And, well. Since word count tells me that the first seven chapters of this already amount to a good 46'000 words, it's safe to say I have to correct the expected length (again) from 45'000 to 50'000+. Vanilla! I mean, omg, vanilla! ILU SO MUCH! Arthur's revenge should involve glitter in some way. Srsly. ^^

Loving angsty Arthur and Merlin practising (full show needed! So much!) and I really want to know what Uther has against magic and HA! Sophia backstory! :D Also sneaky, all-knowing Morgana and Arthur in denial and Merlin being so damn cute!

They are! That picture is one of my faves, and I love what inderpal did with it - the curtains and caravans, that's just what it looks like in my head!

I love how Arthur is trying to help Merlin, how guilty he feels when he knows his father would never agree and how much he really wants to be with Merlin. Well done. Loved it.

I've been to the Grand Place at night and it's beautiful.

I have to admit that I don't htink I've personally been to the Grand Place. I have been to Brussels, and it's stunning; so many pretty houses, but my (hopefully not completely inaccurate) description came from cooing over pretty pictures.

And thank you so much! Really, really happy it worked for you - writing emotions is something I find rather tricky.

Oh, another wonderful chapter! Arthur's angst and UST is fab, and Merlin is so centered and wonderful. Plus, Uther!!!!

I love angst. Or, to quote Röyksopp: Love without pain isn't really romance. Uther, heh. I worry I'm painting him as too much of a bad guy, but... he does have his reasons!

Whew, sorry, I just had to say that.

This was the perfect thing to appear on my flist on the Friday night. And i'm very happy this is growing longer than you expected because I could read your Merlin/Arthur chats forever I think. It's all the little moments and observations that make this world feel so real. I felt so sad for Arthur when I got to the university bit, and then he couldn't tell Merlin what had happened with Uther. I really do adore everything about this AU!

Thank you, thank you so much! I'm not sure I'm happy this is exceeding my expectations, length-wise, but then, I would have had a difficult time telling it in less words. Also, I have only one more chapter to write! Phew.
