Fic: Blue Thunder--Epilogue

Sep 27, 2015 20:14

Jensen put the green salad into the refrigerator, next to the marinating porterhouse steaks, and then turned the oven on to preheat.

He checked his watch. Jared should be home any minute.  A moment later, two yipping dogs with madly wagging tails bounded down the hallway and through the living room, jostling to beat each other to the front door.

Such an action-packed and entertaining read! I'm not familiar with the movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the technical aspects of Blue Thunder, and how you captured the tensions of the 1980's.

I loved seeing Jared and Jensen's relationship grow from friendship to something more; how they shared their pasts, and helped each other through difficult times.

Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you! You definitely didn't need to have seen the movie to understand this J2 version.

I'm so happy to hear that the technical aspects were enjoyable and that the 80s feel came through okay. Glad you enjoyed the relationship aspects...that definitely wasn't in the movie! :D

Thanks so much for reading and commenting. :D

Hee! Just read BT again for the umpteenth time, and it's still just as excellent as it was the very first time. Not only did you do a fantastic job of shifting J2 to the '80s, you did total justice to one of my favorite flicks. Brava!! GO, YOU!!

. . . and thanks again for taking me up on that challenge! ♥

You are very welcome, Deb. I really enjoyed writing this and I can't even begin to tell you how very happy it makes me that YOU enjoyed it so much, knowing that this is one of your all-time favourite movies!

It's always a pleasure to work with you...and I still can't believe how much art you did for this! ♥

I thoroughly enjoyed your thrilling story!!

I’m more of a slow reader so I figured it would take me a few nights to finish this, but there was no way I could stop reading this fast-paced fic so I just kept going straight through to the end.

This story really lived up to the fantastic artwork……or is it the artwork that lived up to the fantastic story……whatever, BOTH were great!

Unbelievably I never did see the movie but I always heard it was terrific & your version sure lived up to the movie’s reputation.

Very entertaining & action-packed & I LOVED your J2 pairing here!! Jared & his “pretty, pretty princess” were perfect together!

Thank you for writing this!

Thank you so much! I'm delighted to hear that you couldn't put the story down--that's such a compliment--and that it lived up to the movie's reputation! Also happy to hear that you loved this version of J2. (Jared calls Jensen his pretty, pretty princess just to watch him blush and doesn't even care that he gets poked or smacked every single time he says it!) (Jensen secretly likes it, but if you even think about telling anyone that, he'd just like you to remember that he has a permit to carry concealed.)

Deb's artwork is just stunning. It always is, but this is one of her favourite ever movies, so I knew that she would absolutely knock it out of the park this time! And boy oh boy, did she ever! I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear that you think the story is on a par! :D

Thank you so much for reading and for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. :D

That was such a great story! I've never seen the film, but my hubby has, and he loves it, so he's told me about it. I loved your twist on it! I was on the edge of my seat. So exciting!

Also, I loved the line about how Jensen thought it was so cool to have a phone you could take anywhere. Ah, the 1980s! :)

Thank you! I'm so pleased that it had you on the edge of your seat! It can be really hard to gauge how suspenseful something is when you're writing it and you know what's going to happen! So I'm happy to hear that you found it exciting.

...how Jensen thought it was so cool to have a phone you could take anywhere.

I remember going to see Lethal Weapon at the movies back in the day and being blown away by them having a phone in a briefcase! Wow. Imagine a phone you could take anywhere! Jensen's reaction is a mirror of mine! Ah the 80s! :D

Thank you so much for reading and commenting. :)

"them having a phone in a briefcase"

Oh yes, I remember that! My dad had one for work, and I, too, remember thinking that was so amazing!
