So hiatus is over and while the last ep wasn't my favourite, it was reasonably solid and we did get lots of lovely Dean angst, as well as yummy wet!Sam and some scheming Rowena, which I quite enjoyed.

The mental image of Dean going "Knight of Hell" on the tomatoes was frightening enough, but then . . .

he’s going to give in to the need for the simple reason that he’s not going to be able to stop himself.

Thank you! It's a total addiction, this need to kill thing Dean's got going on. He starts with the slashing and the stabbing and then he just can't stop. I think it's gonna be a rocky road for our boy. I hope the writers do it justice! :)

When Cas suggested that Dean should talk to Claire, I honestly expected Sam to say, "Screw what I said before, now *this* is the worst idea I've ever heard." Because even at his best Dean would have a hard time getting through to her and helping her make sense of things. The way things are, though, he's way too messed up to do anybody good, and I really love the way you show that - Dean trying not to go Knight on Hell on the tomatoes is the most perfect image ever!

Exactly. Dean is way to much of a mess right now and completely in thrall to his addiction to killing, to be able to help anybody else out. Glad you liked Dean's fascination with the possibility of tomato-spatter! :)

He imagines going Knight of Hell on the tomatoes; imagines Sammy’s face when he comes into the kitchen and finds the walls sprayed with red chunks and juice, the spatter patterns like blood at a crime scene.

This is such a great image! It's surreal and kind of funny, but at the same time really horrific, because of how the bloodlust just pervades everything. Great fic. ♥

Thank you! I do think Dean's head is probably a very surreal place at the moment; he's sort of almost on the edge of madness. :)
