Oh man! Now I have to go to work!!! *shakes fist at work* I don't wanna! I wanna know what happens! And OMG, this chapter was, again, AMAZING! All the Fresh Blood comments "More like Kamikaze", "I can see right through you" "stop turning everything into a punchline" "And you know what else? Stop pretending like you're not scared". I loved all of that. I found myself welling up with tears at Dean's fear and then his resignation when they finally came for him. And I'm just picturing Sammy standing there alone. It must be KILLING him that he can't do anything to help Dean - that he can't even be there with him. Guh. Oh boys!! Wonderful chapter. You can bet your booty I'll be reading more tonight after work. I can't wait! Thanks again for this. *hugs*

Dean's deal was sort of my inspiration for how he would handle this situation; denial, a smart-ass veneer and reckless behaviour; so the canon scene where Sam finally confronted him about all that was definitely gonna worm its way in there in some form! The hardest thing for Dean here is knowing that he can't fight this. He's a hunter; he doesn't know how to just lie down and accept his fate. And poor Sammy is absolutely beside himself. He always knew he couldn't protect Dean from this, but that doesn't mean it's not tearing him apart that he couldn't.
