Hi! Thanks so much for posting!

I see most of us have eaten alone at a restaurant--I really enjoyed my single solo outing, but was traumatized by having my husband burst into the place (it was a diner) almost bellowing "WHY ARE YOU HERE????"

In his defense, I forgot to tell anyone I'd be stopping after work, and those were the days before cell phones. My mom freaked out, got my dad upset, had him send my husband out on the streets looking for me...yeah. Kind of embarrassing. I did not handle it well. Or quietly. I waited half a year before I went back there.

And that's my dining alone story! :D

Lol. My stories are not that interesting! Just a case of travelling alone, either for business or pleasure and needing to eat. I will say that the fancier the restaurant the more awkward it feels! :D

The news coming out of NYC is terrifying and heartbreaking. I hope your daughter in law et al are able to stay inside and keep safe. <3333333

Thank you. It all happened so fast and we weren't able to move quickly because our D-I-L needs bio dad's permission for her son to leave the country and he was worried about the virus risk posed by airports and airplanes and by the time he decided maybe it would be a good idea to leave NYC if you could the boarders were all closing, both domestically in the US and internationally, and it just got too hard to leave. :(

You’ve driven 100 mph and been zip-lining! You sound very daring lol!

Although to be honest, I may have ridden in a car going that fast when I was little. The speed-limit along the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon was 85 mph and my dad was a literal cowboy, so.

Yeah, cruises don’t sound so appealing these days. I’ve never been on one either, but now I never want to!

Hope you’re staying healthy and safe!

I don't think I'm particularly daring! TBH, I wasn't ever the one driving when the car has gone that fast, I interpreted the question as about being in a car that has gone that fast. Which I've done several times; on the autobahn in Germany while there on holiday and on a quiet country back road here in Oz, where a male friend wanted to show off the speeds his classic car could achieve!
The zip line was a small non-scary one, but I am keen to do a bigger one as to me they are great fun. Unlike, say, bungee jumping or sky diving, neither of which I'd EVER do!!

Yep. I think a lot of us are off the idea of cruises right now!

Hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy.

Ugh that is frustrating and worrying about your son's wife and your step grandson being stuck in NYC - though Cuomo seems like a good man doing all the right things, so there is that.

You must be very busy then, being essential and front line, I hope your employers are taking good care of you while you look after the old folk (and the batteries).

The only cruise I've been on was on the Nile, which, granted, is a bit different from the sea cruises, but I wasn't impressed. The emphasis seemed to be on food, food and more food - so when we stopped somewhere to sightsee, everything was rushed in order to get back for lunch or dinner, which was very annoying. Plus I hated being cooped up with a bunch of random people, most of whom were old, middle class and kind of pompous. So add that to close quarter disease spreading... best steered clear of, methinks! LOL

The only cruise I really want to do is a Canada/Alaska/Antarctica cruise, which we've been slowly saving for (and probably will be old by the time we can afford it...although hopefully not pompous!!) but I'm not so sure it's a good idea any more ( ... )

I'm with you on the boat - I only took the helm for a couple of minutes but that totally counts as driving. Very badly, but driving nonetheless!!
