So, after my recent laptop failure and Chris's incident this Friday, I get home and plug my desktop in. Sounds like your power supply went ka-put.

That was the case, as I thought, but the guys at Paladin pointed out another problem to me. One of the capacitors on my mobo was distended, about ready to blow out, and a few others weren't looking much better. Basically, even if I replaced the power supply I'd have only had a couple of months before the whole thing was shot permanently. So, I've bought a new laptop.
